Additional Exercises to Try

After completing the previous exercises, you might notice that you didn’t feel anything similar to what you experience when you’re feeling a strong emotion. It’s possible that the exercises did not induce the particular symptoms you most often experience.

Here are some other exercises you might want to try if the sensations below are the ones you experience:

Hot and sweaty – Wear a heavy winter coat, hat, mitts, and scarf while sitting in front of a space heater or in a stuffy room. Stay until the sensations begin and then for a couple of minutes more. Repeat 2 times.

Visual sensations – Stare at a mirror for 2 minutes; stare at a wood grain or a bright light for 30 seconds. Repeat 2 times.

Feelings of weakness – Tense all your muscles for 30 to 60 seconds. Repeat 2 times.
