If you were too scared to try the exercises, you may want to attempt them for the first time when you have someone around you feel comfortable. Here are a few of the possible reasons this might have happened.
- You stopped the exercises before you could fully experience the sensations for fear of what you might have experienced. If that’s the case, you might want to try them again for a little longer.
- You’re doing the exercises in a safe place or with safe people around so there may not be same level of concern about having your worst case scenario happen. If you think this is possible, try to do them when you’re alone or in another location.
- It’s possible that knowing that you were intentionally causing the physical sensations may not have resulted in the same degree of distress that you experience when these sensations come on unexpectedly.
If you were too scared to try the exercises, you may want to attempt them for the first time when you have someone around you feel comfortable with (either have them do it with you or be in another room). Ultimately though, you will want to try these on your own.
